Dr John "Kevin" Artley, MD FRCOG FRANZCOG, Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, has been involved in the field of Assisted Reproductive Therapies since 1989.
Having qualified from Leicester University (UK), Master of Medicine, Master of Surgery (MB ChB) in 1984, he chose to specialise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
As part of his professional development Kevin applied for and was offered the coveted MRC funded research post at the prestigious Cambridge University, working with the pioneering leaders of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). This is where he completed his MD (Doctor of Medicine)
Kevin was a member of the original clinical team responsible for the design and establishment of the now world famous Assisted Conception Unit at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital in London
He has subsequently held positions as Consultant Gynaecologist in Brisbane and Research Director at Monash IVF, Melbourne, Australia before relocating back to the UK in 1995.
During his time back in the UK, Kevin held the prestigious role of Medical Director of both The Private Practice at Burton IVF Ltd and Burton Centre for Reproductive Medicine and was a Specialist Advisor to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority.
In addition to his clinical post, Kevin held the management position of Clinical Director for Women, Children's and Surgical Services at Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
A dedicated educator and previous examiner at the RCOG, UK (Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists), here in Perth, he enjoys teaching junior colleagues in a part-time capacity as an Emergency Department Consultant at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Subiaco.
Kevin became an examiner for The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2014, assessing the abilities and standards of doctors in training.
Obviously Kevin never really lost his love of "down under" and chose to establish his private practice exclusively at Concept Fertility Centre and Day Hospital in Subiaco, Perth, Western Australia where he and his wife have been based since October 2013
A now adopted local, he has made the suburb his home.
